Buying Unusual Gifts in Hotels in Israel

Israel has some unusual gifts that you won't find anywhere else in the world for such reasonable prices.  Along with the usual tourist gifts, the country is known for its really unique items that can be purchased throughout the country and even in some of the hotels in Israel.  Make sure to take along enough money and luggage, as you want to make sure to take advantage of all the deals you find.

Dead Sea products
Israel's Dead Sea region is unique in the world.  It contains some of the best natural healing salts and therapeutic mud that is marketed around the globe.  The Dead Sea has 10 times the amount of salt that ocean water has, and its salt contains a highly unique mineral composition - magnesium, calcium chloride, potassium, and bromides.  These soothing salts have been used since the Roman times over 2,000 years ago.  The Dead Sea salt is known for its treatment of psoriasis and other skin ailments.  The best part about buying the Dead Sea products in Israel is that they're often a fraction of the cost of those sold abroad.  You can even buy the Dead Sea salts in most hotels in Israel and shopping malls throughout the country.

Religious artifacts
Nowhere in the world can you purchase as many religious artifacts as you can in Israel.  As the center of the three largest religions, Israel has just about any religious item that you're searching for.  Mea Shearim, the oldest religious enclave in the country, is lined with religious artifact stores.  You can find whatever you need, at extremely reasonable prices.  If you're looking for a decent Kiddush cup or bread cover, this is the place to shop.  However, many hotels in Israel have gift shops that also sell some of the same items.  Religious books are also extremely plentiful and well priced in Mea Shearim.  The same books would cost you almost twice the amount outside Israel.

Tefen glass factory
Located in the Western Galilee, the Tefen glass factory produces some of the finest glass products such as Matzah and Challah plates, apple and honey dishes, and cake plates.  Prices are close to half the price of those exported around the world.  Many of the hotels in Israel even carry the Tefen glass products.  If you plan to buy one, just make sure it's carefully bubble-wrapped.
