Spending Money While Staying at one of the Hotels in Israel

Going to Israel can be a lot of fun if you've properly prepared a budget for your trip.  Although Israel is located in the center of the Middle East where prices tend to be lower, the country is known for having prices similar to those in Europe or in the States.

Hotels in Israel

Prices of hotels in Israel are comparable to those anywhere in the world.  It really depends what you're looking for though, as the lower priced hotels can provide reasonable deals.  Five-star hotels can be expensive but offer all the luxury you can possible imagine and crave.  Olympic-sized swimming pools, spas, gyms, and other amenities make you feel as though you're royalty.  Rooms are equipped with the newest technology such as flat-screen televisions and wireless accommodations.  Mid-priced hotels in Israel also offer the usual amenities such as pools, Jacuzzis, room service, etc.  Even in budget hotels you'll often find central air and heat, something not always commonly found in Middle Eastern hotels.  Don't forget about the infamous Israeli buffet breakfast, offered from the ritziest hotel to two-star accommodations.  You won't be hungry until dinner time after you've eaten the huge meal.

Transportation

Rental cars are priced similar to those you'll find in Europe, but more expensive than those in the States.  If you go online before your trip, you can find some real decent deals on rentals.  Gasoline prices are comparable to prices in Europe, but much higher than in the U.S.  Taxis, however, are a relatively inexpensive form of transportation and very convenient.  You'll only have to wait about 10 minutes for a taxi at most of the hotels in Israel.  Buses are also an option, but not as convenient as taxis or rental cars if you're planning to tour around the country.  It is a great way to meet the locals though, and experience a slice of life in Israeli culture.

Food

Restaurant prices are a bit cheaper than those found in other European countries.  Part of the reason for this is that vegetables, cheeses, and fruit

tend to be less expensive than in other parts of the world because of the ideal agricultural climate.  Summers are long and warm and winters are short and temperate.  One thing for sure, though, you won't leave the country hungry.
